Medicine Buddha Reiki is a form of Reiki (or energy healing) that may go back to the Buddhist origins of the practice. The ancient Medicine Buddha Sutras contain an empowerment process, or the act of a master attuning the student to the energy similar to Usui Reiki. Medicine Buddha Reiki utilizes the ancient symbols and mantras of the Medicine Buddha teachings, combined with the practice of Usui Reiki. In fact, the Medicine Buddha teachings may be the basis for Usui Reiki as Dr. Usui was a practicing Buddhist who was involved in a fast and meditation when he received the symbols.

It was believed that the practice of the Medicine Buddha goes back to The Buddha himself. To benefit from the practice, chant the mantras and meditate on the picture of the Medicine Buddha contained in the booklet.
